ONC announces the Digital Privacy Notice Challenge

The Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) announced the launch of the Digital Privacy Notice Challenge, a new contest for health IT developers and designers to create an online notice of privacy practices (NPP) that is readable, understandable for patients, and seamlessly integrated into Web sites.

Health IT designers, developers, and patient privacy experts are invited join this challenge and put your best thinking and creativity to work in developing an online version that is patient-friendly, effective, and enables users to interact with the proposed notices.

This challenge is a direct result of a successful, recent collaboration between the ONC and the Office for Civil Rights (OCR) to develop notices of privacy practices that clearly convey the required information in an accessible format on paper.

Do you have what it takes to meet the Challenge?

Visit the Digital Privacy Notice Challenge website (oncchallenges.ideascale.com) for more information, submission and eligibility requirements, and the breakdown of the $25,000 in prizes.
